I purchased this in exasperation, as many of us in our family have long hair, and the beater brush of a regular vacuum cleaner gets jammed up quickly with stray hairs that we shed. Our home is mostly carpeted, so we needed something that we could just grab and vacuum, without worrying about messing up the machine. This does pretty well in addressing this need. The main accessory has soft bristles, which catch the hair, and quite easy to remove. Just grab and throw away. The suction is what you would expect for a vacuum in this price range/versatility--(wet/dry option). The canister is pretty light, and the cord is really long, which makes it easy to cover an entire room without having to stop and unplug/replug. The long wand makes vacuuming under beds a cinch. I will still use the traditonal vacuum cleaner we have from time to time, but for main cleaning I depend on this. The suction quality, as compared to my low to mid range bagless upright is superior. My bagless upright just doesn't do as well, nor is it as versatile. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a solution to jammed-up beater brushes on vacuums due to long (human) hair. We have no pets, so I cannot comment on how well it would work for pet hair. There are plenty of vacuums on the market that boast of great pet hair pick up, but none that I have found that feature special features for long hair pick up. For us, this was a great buy. We have had this for the better part of a year, and it's still going strong. I recently got a rubber broom/sweeper, which features rubber bristles from Amazon, called: Everholder FURemover Broom. This is especially handy for bathrooms, where we style our hair and inevitably shed quite a lot. This is a good supplement to the Shop Vac for a quick pick up. All in all, it's hard to go wrong with any Shop Vac in my opinion. They are quite versatile and really great with the Wet/Dry function. When it comes time to get your vacuum bags for this particular model, save yourself time and frustration and get the pack of 3 from here on Amazon.com. The bags are really hard to find elsewhere. This Shop Vac does come with 1 bag and all that you need to get started, so what are you waiting for?! I highly recommend for long human hair pickup and major all around versatility!

This is a very handy vacuum. I use it pretty much for the cars that have black interiors and this thing has great suction power. It's light and has wheels so it's easy to pull around. Had it for about a year and it's been reliable so far.

For both wet and dry applications, this machine is very powerful and efficient. The small size is practical for modest home applications and makes it easy to move and handle.
