By P. Rubin
I like having a stiff brush on my shop vac to help get crumbs and other junk that likes to stick unless you agitate it. The problem I have is all the brushes I find have two problems - they are 90 degrees and the bristles are too long and too soft. I can get a nice stiff brush for my Dyson or other home vacuum... why not for my large industrial vac?
My problems with this brush:
1. To use this brush effectively on sanded siding or on brickwork flooring I have to add a 45 degree elbow to the 90 degree elbow. Far less efficient suction. Why not give me a 45 degree head like the one I can get for my smaller hang-up Shop Vac?
2. The bristles are long and on the soft side. After about 20 minutes of vigorous use they tend to bend in the middle into the suction opening, effectively clogging the intake and making the brush useless. You can then try to straighten and trim stray bristles but they dont really ever go back to straight.
I have an old Black and Decker Scumbuster that had the most amazing collection of brush heads. Unfortunately they stopped making that scrubber - go figure. If anyone could make some shop vac heads out of the bristles those things used, I'm in for a half dozen!

By A. Quint
It's clear that Shop-Vac and other manufacturers of relatively inexpensive wet/dry vacs make most of their money from the purchase of bags, filters, and other accessories, and this accessory is a case in point. In my mind it's an accessory that one would expect to be - but isn't - included with the vacuum. That being said, I think it's a well-made brush of proper stiffness that fits securely on the end of the wand. I'd definitely recommend it.
